Hey There!
You've made it to this part of my eportfolio!
In the midst of a pandemic, this page will highlight my realizations and experiences while learning and engaging in the sport of swimming and aquatics.
REFLECTION
“Believe in yourself, not only in swimming, but in life itself. You always have to have fun. You have to have an open mind. If you’re not enjoying it, don’t do it. Life’s too short.”
Debbie Meyer
We can achieve our goals in life by believing in ourselves and the ability we have. Who will believe us if we continue to mistrust ourselves? During this pandemic, we are all facing numerous obstacles simply because we are adjusting to everything, particularly in the area of education. It's been over two years since we've had a face-to-face class. I admit that learning at home and performing virtually was difficult for us because we are all used to being in a classroom setting. We all had challenges, and our actions have been limited throughout this crisis. One thing that we college students are currently praying for is the return of face-to-face classes, as learning alone is extremely challenging.

Due to the pandemic, I thought this swimming course would be hard to continue, but through to the university's effort and creativity, a Pilot-Run-Face-to-Face Class was launched. We, the BPHE-III students, are the first program to be given the opportunity to participate in the Pilot-Run-Face-to-Face Classes at Zeny Springville Resort for our Swimming and Aquatics lesson. We are also grateful for the opportunity that the university has provided us, particularly the fact that they have made our safety a major concern. In addition, they provided us with a health kit which included a face mask, alcohol, and vitamins to ensure that we were safe and well throughout the limited face-to-face classes.

The two-day swimming lesson was really worth it for me. When I first opened the pwebbs before starting this course, the 2S-PHED14 course, "Swimming and Aquatics," was the first thing that caught my attention. It has always been a childhood dream of mine to be able to know how to swim, but due to low income, I was unable to enroll in swimming lessons. That is why having this course and allowing us the opportunity to interact with one other during swimming lessons is truly a blessing for me because I was able to fulfill one of my dreams, even if it was just for two days, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself while learning basic swimming strokes. I admit that I am not particularly good after the training, but I am confident in my ability to swim and float. Few of my classmates, particularly those who lived near the beach, are good swimmers; others aren't, but it's good that we try regardless After the exhibition, there was one stroke in particularly that I struggled with, and that was the breast stroke. But that's okay as there are two strokes in which I feel confident and at ease, particularly freestyle and backstroke, which are also my favorite strokes. Swimming is therefore more than a sport for me; it is also a recreational activity that I enjoy as well as a tool that I may use in the case of a water emergencies.

Overall, we all had a great time and learned a lot, especially our professor/swimming coach Ma'am Kharmyn Leah T. Darang, who guided us through the two-day swimming class. Those strokes, as well as the ability to swim, are extremely useful, especially in an emergency. I'm extremely happy, even though it was our second meet as one section, I got to interact with them. As we were not all classmates during our first year at PNU, meeting them via chat is very different from seeing them in person. Generally, this course has taught me that no matter what the situation is, if I am determined to learn, I can overcome it with the help of our Almighty God and the individuals who have assisted us, such as the PNU-Mindanao administration and our professor Ma'am Kharmyn Leah T. Darang.
